I am delighted that my wonderful duo partner Suryeon Noh and I have won both the Stacey Bartsch Memorial Prize for the best interpretation of a song by Franz Schubert, as well as 2nd prize in the “Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne” competition at Kunst Uni Graz!
The competition was concluded with a festive concert by the prizewinners at the Congress Graz.
The young soprano Annemarie Pfahler is currently studying the postgraduate programme “Solo Class“ in the class of Prof. Marina Sandel in Hanover, where she previously completed her opera master's degree.
Beginning with the coming season, she will be part of the ensemble of Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich as a soloist.
Annemarie Pfahler is a prize winner of the international song competition “Schubert und die Moderne” (2nd prize, as well as the special prize for the best Schubert interpretation), the Haydn Competition in Austria (3rd prize) and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition (special prize), as well as the opera competition of the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation (audience prize).
In her career as a young singer, she has already made a name for herself as a soloist and ensemble singer in numerous concerts and recitals. In addition to her membership of the Ensemble 1684 (Gregor Meyer) and the newly founded Ensemble Misenos, Annemarie Pfahler has already performed as a soloist in the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Thomaskirche Leipzig, Rheingoldhalle Mainz, Hofkirche Dresden, the Limburg, Wetzlar and Speyer Cathedrals, Herkulessaal in Munich, Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg and almost all of the major concert churches in Frankfurt. She is a scholarship holder of the Bachkonzerte Frankfurt e.V..
She was and is regularly involved in CD productions, most recently participating as a soprano in the premiere recordings of nine Telemann cantatas. A new CD with Ensemble 1684 was released last fall.
